A native of Saint-Petersburg, Russia, Evgeny Khokhlov studied at the N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, graduating summa cum laude from the Choral Conducting faculty as a student of E. Kudryavtseva and from the Operatic and Symphonic Conducting faculty as a student of D. Khokhlov
Winner of the Luigi Mancinelli Opera Conductors' International Competition 2016 and awarded the Special Prize - Gerhart Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, Germany.
Evgeny Khokhlov had the honor of conducting the opening night of Puccini's La Boheme in Teatro Luigi Mancinelli, Orvieto, Italy in August 2016.
In 2017 Evgeny accepted an invitation to take a position of the principal conductor of the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia. (Repertoire includes: “Madama Butterfly”, “ Aida”,”La Traviata”, “The Queen of Spades”, “Eugene Onegin”,”Prince Igor”, ”The Tzar’s Bride”, , ballets “Romeo and Juliet”,” The Sleeping Beauty”, ”The Swan Lake” among others.)
Evgeny has been appointed a conductor of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus in 2003.
In 2008-2011 Evgeny Khokhlov worked in the Saint-Petersburg Chamber Opera.
Since 2006 collaborates with the Andreyev Imperial Russian Orchestra.
Equally comfortable in the concert hall and the opera house, he is splitting his time between the Samara Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Andreyev Imperial Russian Orchestra.

Maestro Khokhlov has made guest appearances with many orchestras including Beethoven Orchestra in Bonn, Germany, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Turkey, National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Estonia, Youth Chamber Orchestra of Estonia, and the Spazio Musica Orchestra, and others.
